Getting Out and About
We recently moved to The Woodlands and pretty quickly settled into a consistent routine. I suppose that’s to be expected with a toddler, and as a former teacher, structure tends to feel natural for me. Still, I’ve always admired those people who effortlessly explore their cities, always knowing the best spots to visit and making their “ordinary” days feel anything but ordinary.
This year, I made a New Year’s resolution to embrace more adventure—less routine, more fun. Even if it’s just exploring our town, I want to soak in the little moments and step outside the predictable. So, this past weekend, we headed to The Waterway for the afternoon. We watched the ducks and paddle boats swim by, marveled at the koi fish, and wrapped it up with a spontaneous late lunch. It was heaven!
Of course, chasing after a curious toddler who’s determined to pet every duck she sees required an outfit that balanced comfort, practicality, and style. I opted for a look that allowed easy movement and felt effortlessly put together. A pair of low-heeled boots made running around a breeze, while oversized pieces added a cozy yet polished vibe. The slightly slouchy silhouette gave the look a sense of ease, while still feeling intentional—perfect for a day that was anything but ordinary.
